Hi, I'm Deena.

The baker behind Seattle Gluten Free Breads, food has been part of my life for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a big Italian and Mexican family where meals weren’t just food; they were how we connected. But the biggest influence came from growing up in the Mexican restaurant world. My family owned and ran restaurants, so my childhood was spent in kitchens full of movement, warmth, and tradition. I learned early what it meant to serve people with pride and how a good meal can make someone feel at home.

When I was diagnosed with celiac disease, that world shifted. The foods that shaped my upbringing were suddenly off limits, and most gluten-free alternatives felt nothing like the real thing. Bread — such a simple but meaningful part of my family’s table — was what I missed the most.

Instead of letting go of those traditions, I started recreating them. Gluten-free biscotti was my first experiment, and from there, my curiosity became a craft. I grew determined to make gluten-free bread that felt like the bread I grew up with: soft, warm, familiar, and worth sharing.

Seattle Gluten Free Breads grew out of that lifelong connection to food and the lessons from my family’s restaurant kitchens. Every loaf I bake is shaped by hand, made fresh, and rooted in the traditions that raised me — proof that gluten-free bread can still feel like home.

Baked Under Washington’s Cottage Food Laws

All of our breads are made in a licensed gluten-free home kitchen that follows Washington’s Cottage Food Laws. This ensures everything is prepared safely in a dedicated gluten-free space. Because of these rules, we’re able to offer our bread through preorder pickup only, so every loaf you receive is baked fresh for you.
